It was such a blessing to go on a retreat in the beginning of the new year. What a way to start off the year with worship and fellowship. Our purpose for this retreat was to revive our mind focusing on the new year’s goal. It was a very good time sharing our thoughts and feelings of the past, and we prayed for the newness of our vision. With good weather, good food and good place of stay, we had a blast enjoying each other’s company in Christ’s love. Please pray for our youth to grow in the spirit and wisdom of God.

Knowing Christ Jesus. Strengthening Faith. Growing in Love.
"But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ." -Philippians 3:7-9
California's Great America - July 31, 2018
Even though our original plan has turned upside-down, we were able to make this a fun trip before the summer break was over. I pray that our youth can grow in the spirit of love and kindness so that their lives can be examples of sweet fragrances of Jesus.
"Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." -Ephesians 5:1-2
God bears forth Love and Beauty out from our emptiness, brokenness and our chaotic mess...

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."
In life, there will be many circumstances when you are lost. During times of chaos and mess, you look upon the One who can hold you steadfastly and remember who God can be for you. It is encouraging to know that there is God who never despises those times in need.
Last Sunday was my first time delivering sermon for our newly formed EM service. We only started with a small number of students but I know God has an amazing plan for us.

"Throughout the bible, the ancient Hebrew people made sense of the central meaning of what God was doing in their humanity - the life, death and all of human struggles. God was bringing out love and mercy out from human chaos...

It is also very important for us to know and remember that God works through chaos. God never undermines the chaotic beginning. God never ignores all of our struggles. God embraces the chaos and hovering over it’s pain. This theme of embracing in suffering is carried all throughout the Bible. It is climaxed on Jesus on the Cross...

God bears forth Love and Harmony out from our emptiness, brokenness and chaotic mess, so that we might endure our life in all our struggles through Jesus." -Excerpt from last Sunday's message
So here we are...making something beautiful in the midst of chaotic beginning.
